Cytogenetic Analysis of Hepatoblastoma
Hepatoblastoma is a rare pediatric malignant tumor of the liver. Previous cytogenetic reports are sporadic. We karyotyped nine consecutive hepatoblastomas from the Italian centers participating in a multicentric study on hepatic tumors (SIOPEL 1). Six cases showed abnormal karyotypes. The most common abnormalities were trisomies of chromosomes 2 and 20.

Abstract INTRODUCTION Human tau protein, composed of six brain‐specific isoforms, is a major driver of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The role of its isoforms however remains unclear and human AD models are scarce. METHODS We generated human MAPT– (tau–) knockout (KO) induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) using CRISPR/Cas9, differentiated these into ...

FTIR spectral imaging as a probe of ultrasound effect on cells in vitro [PDF]
Safe and efficient intracellular delivery of genes or drugs is critically important in targeted cancer treatment and gene therapy applications. Ultrasound (US) has been demonstrated to alter the cell membrane permeability due to a biophysical mechanism (Sonoporation) and exploited as a promising non-invasive gene transfer method.

Having a direct look:analysis of DNA damage and repair mechanisms by next generation sequencing [PDF]
Genetic information is under constant attack from endogenous and exogenous sources, and the use of model organisms has provided important frameworks to understand how genome stability is maintained and how various DNA lesions are repaired. The advance of

Expert Perspectives on a Clinical Challenge: Hematologic Malignancies and Vasculitis
Systemic vasculitis describes a collection of rare diseases each caused by inflammation of blood vessel walls that can cause severe systemic complications [[3, 4]](#ref‐0003). The pattern of vascular inflammation and resultant damage is frequently variable and may be mimicked, or directly triggered, by infection or malignancy.
