A Generic Mechanism for Enhanced Cytokine Signaling via Cytokine-Neutralizing Antibodies. [PDF]
Enhancement or inhibition of cytokine signaling and corresponding immune cells responses are critical factors in various disease treatments. Cytokine signaling may be inhibited by cytokine-neutralizing antibodies (CNAs), which prevents further activation

Inhibitors of Cytokine Signal Transduction [PDF]
Cytokines are secreted proteins that regulate diverse biological functions by binding to receptors at the cell surface to activate complex signal transduction pathways including the Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) pathway.

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Cytokine signaling: Inhibitors keep cytokines in check [PDF]
AbstractSome members of the CIS/SOCS/JAB/SSI family have been demonstrated to be cytokine-inducible inhibitors of cytokine signaling. Steps have now been made towards clarifying the biological function of two of these proteins, revealing that these inhibitors are essential for the correct maintenance of cytokine signaling.

Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Tumor mutational burden (TMB) and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are key biomarkers for predicting immunotherapy responses in cutaneous melanoma. The discordance between brisk TIL morphology and absent cytokine signals complicates immune profiling.

Tuning the Cytokine Responses: An Update on Interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 Receptor Complexes
Interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 are related cytokines that regulate many aspects of allergic inflammation. They play important roles in regulating the responses of lymphocytes, myeloid cells, and non-hematopoietic cells.
