Physicochemical and statistical characterization of gas-sensing behaviors of resonator sensors with carbonaceous films prepared by rf-sputtering of aromatic and hydrophilic biomolecules

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2022
Quartz crystal resonators coated with gas-sorptive films were characterized by analyzing their structures and their organic gas-sorption behaviors, which were then studied using statistics and computational molecular simulations.

First-principles GW calculations for DNA and RNA nucleobases

open access: yes, 2011
On the basis of first-principles GW calculations, we study the quasiparticle properties of the guanine, adenine, cytosine, thymine, and uracil DNA and RNA nucleobases.

DNA methylation at tobacco telomeric sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Majerová et al. (Plant Mol Biol, 2011) have recently reported that a considerable fraction of cytosines at tobacco telomeres is methylated. Although the data presented in this report indicate that tobacco telomeric sequences undergo certain levels of DNA

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Structural basis for targeted DNA cytosine deamination and mutagenesis by APOBEC3A and APOBEC3B

open access: yesNature Structural &Molecular Biology, 2016
APOBEC-catalyzed cytosine-to-uracil deamination of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) has beneficial functions in immunity and detrimental effects in cancer.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Acceleration of the Deamination of Cytosine through Photo-Crosslinking

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology, 2023
Herein, we report the major factor for deamination reaction rate acceleration, i.e., hydrophilicity, by using various 5-substituted target cytosines and by carrying out deamination at high temperatures.

Expression in mammalian cells of a cloned gene encoding murine DNA methyltransferase [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Mammalian DNA cytosine-5-methyltransferase (MTase, EC 2.1.1.37) is an essential component for establishing and maintaining cell-type specific methylation patterns in the genome. The cDNAfor the murine enzyme was previously cloned in segments.

Surface-Enhanced Hyper-Raman Spectra of Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine, Thymine, and Uracil

open access: yesThe journal of physical chemistry. C, Nanomaterials and interfaces, 2016
Using picosecond excitation at 1064 nm, surface-enhanced hyper-Raman scattering (SEHRS) spectra of the nucleobases adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine, and uracil with two different types of silver nanoparticles were obtained. Comparing the SEHRS spectra

Tumor‐agnostic detection of circulating tumor DNA in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer using targeted DNA methylation sequencing and cell‐free DNA fragmentomics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We evaluated circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) detection in advanced pancreatic cancer using DNA methylation, cell‐free DNA fragment lengths, and 5′ end motifs. Machine learning models were trained to estimate ctDNA levels from each feature and their combination.
