Cytotoxic T lymphocytes in regional lymph nodes in colon cancer

open access: yesActa Biomedica Scientifica
Background. The study of the subpopulation composition of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and the expression of co-inhibitory proteins on their surface in regional lymph nodes is necessary for the development of new methods of targeted therapy for colorectal ...

Features of the immune status of patients with acute coronary syndrome who underwent СOVID-19, depending on the number of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8+)

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2023
The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on health and economies around the world. Direct myocardial injury and cytokine storm, leading to destabilization of preexisting plaques and accelerated formation of new ...

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Late Steps in Secretory Lysosome Exocytosis in Cytotoxic Lymphocytes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2013
Natural Killer cells are a subset of cytotoxic lymphocytes that are important in host defense against infections and transformed cells. They exert this function through recognition of target cells by cell surface receptors, which triggers a signaling ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
