Unstoppable brane-flux decay of D 6 ¯ $$ \overline{\mathrm{D}6} $$ branes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We investigate p D 6 ¯ $$ \overline{\mathrm{D}6} $$ branes inside a flux throat that carries K × M D6 charges with K the 3-form flux quantum and M the Romans mass.

Super D-branes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We present a manifestly Lorentz invariant, space-time supersymmetric, and 'κ-invariant' world-volume action for all type II Dirichlet p-branes, p ≤ 9, in a general type II supergravity background, including massive backgrounds in the IIA case. The p =

GRAVITY ON NONCOMMUTATIVE D-BRANES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2003
The effective action for the low energy scattering of two gravitons with a D-brane in the presence of a constant antisymmetric B field in bosonic string theory is calculated and the modification to the standard D-brane action to first order in α′ is obtained.

kappa$ Symmetry, Supersymmetry and Intersecting Branes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Published in: Nucl. Phys. B 502 (1997) 149 citations recorded in [Science Citation Index] Abstract: We present a new form of kappa-symmetry transformations for D-branes in which the dependence on the Born-Infeld field strength is expressed as a relative

Chiral magnets from string theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
Chiral magnets with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction have received quite an intensive focus in condensed matter physics because of the presence of a chiral soliton lattice (CSL), an array of magnetic domain walls and anti-domain walls, and ...

Intersecting branes in matrix theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We construct BPS states in the matrix description of M-theory. Starting from a set of basic M-theory branes, we study pair intersections which preserve supersymmetry.

D-branes on asymmetric orbifolds [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1999
We construct D-brane states on an asymmetric orbifold of type IIA on a four-torus, which is modded out by T-duality. We find explicit boundary states charged under the twisted sector gauge fields. Unlike other cases, the boundary states involve an explicit dependence on the twist fields.

Notes on worldvolume supersymmetries for D-branes on AdS5×S5 background

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We revisit the 1/2-BPS D-branes on the AdS5×S5 background. Based only on the classification of 1/2-BPS D-branes obtained by the covariant open string description, we consider various purely static configurations of D-branes without any worldvolume flux ...

1/2-BPS D-branes from covariant open superstring in AdS4 × CP3 background

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We consider the open superstring action in the AdS4 × CP 3 background and investigate the suitable boundary conditions for the open superstring describing the 1/2-BPS D-branes by imposing the κ-symmetry of the action.
