The plasma D-dimer trends and their value in acute lower limb ischemia patients treated by catheter directed thrombolysis

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
To investigate the change trends of plasma D-dimer during catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) in acute lower limb ischemia (ALI) patients and their clinical value. A retrospective review of patients with ALI who received CDT was carried out.

The role of D-dimer in one year recurrence of venous thromboembolism after anticoagulation withdrawal following a first idiopathic deep vein thrombosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: After discontinuing oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT), the recurrence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) is greatest in the 1st year and gradually diminishes. D-dimer assay was proposed to be eff ective in selecting patients with idiopathic DVT.

Are pulmonary hemostasis and fibrinolysis out of balance in equine chronic pneumopathies? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Clinical examination, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) cytology, acute- phase protein, and pulmonary hemostasis and fibrinolysis marker (fibrinogen, serum amyloid A [SAA], and D-dimer) results were compared between control and respiratory disease ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Evaluation of treatment for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma using plasma D-dimer levels

open access: yesScientific Reports
It has been documented that D-dimer levels have potential utility as a measure of tumor activity in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), however whether it can be used as a predictive marker of treatment outcome has not been established.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Super Formula for Soluble C-Type Lectin-Like Receptor 2 × D-Dimer in Patients With Acute Cerebral Infarction

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis
Acute cerebral infarction (ACI) includes atherosclerotic and cardiogenic ACI and involves a thrombotic state, requiring antithrombotic treatment. However, the thrombotic state in ACI cannot be evaluated using routine hemostatic examinations.

Dose response relationship between D-dimer level and mortality in critically ill COVID-19 patients: a retrospective observational study [version 2; peer review: 1 approved, 2 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2023
Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic. Coagulopathy is one of the most common complications characterized by increased D-dimer level. We aimed to investigate the dose-response relationship between elevated D-dimer level and

D Dimer in acute care

open access: yesInternational Journal of Critical Illness and Injury Science, 2014
Pulmonary embolism, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) are important sources of mortality and morbidity in intensive care unit (ICU). And every time D-dimer remains the the commonest investigation. Many times D-dimer is erroneously considered as a diagnostic test in above mentioned conditions. Its interpretation

Relevance of Interleukin-6 and D-Dimer for Serious Non-AIDS Morbidity and Death among HIV-Positive Adults on Suppressive Antiretroviral Therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Despite effective antiretroviral treatment (ART), HIV-positive individuals are at increased risk of serious non-AIDS conditions (cardiovascular, liver and renal disease, and cancers), perhaps due in part to ongoing inflammation and/or ...
