Phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial D-loop sequence of Mongolian wild boars

open access: yesProceedings of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 2022
Genomic DNA was extracted from tissue specimens of wild boars (Sus scrofa) in 10 different locations Mongolia. D-loop part of genome was amplified by PCR and was subjected to DNA sequencing. Determined sequences from 18 specimens were registered with the

Japanese Silkie Fowls are Widely Distributed in the Phylogenetic Tree Derived from Mitochondrial Complete D-loop Nucleotide Sequences

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2011
The Silkie fowl (Gallus gallus var. domesticus) is distinct from other chicken breeds in terms of its appearance and behavioural characteristics. It is a Japanese native breed and has inhabited Japan since before the Edo era.

Genetic diversity of Gymnocypris chilianensis (Cypriniformes, Cyprinidae) unveiled by the mitochondrial DNA D-loop region

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2021
In order to analyze the genetic diversity and genetic differentiation of Gymnocypris chilianensis, D-loop region of the mitochondrial DNA was sequenced in 50 individuals of G. chilianensis obtained from 2 geographic locations (Heihe River and Shule River)

D-loop haplotype diversity in Brazilian horse breeds [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2017
The first horses were brought to Brazil by the colonizers after 1534. Over the centuries, these animals evolved and adapted to local environmental conditions usually unsuitable for exotic breeds, thereby originating locally adapted Brazilian breeds. The present work represents the first description of maternal genetic diversity in these horse breeds ...

Telomeres Do D-Loop–T-Loop [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 1999
The telomere shortening and subsequent loss of function observed in cells that lack telomerase may be due to disruption of the t loop structure. In several organisms in which telomere shortening is seen, telomeres lose the ability to protect against chromosome fusion well before all telomere sequence is lost.

Genetic diversity of modern lines of hybrid pigs based on variations in mitochondrial DNA sequence

open access: yesБіологія тварин, 2022
In the study, we evaluated the genetic specificity of haplotypes in the population of hybrid gilts (Large White × Landrace), (Landrace × Large White) from the SPE “Globinsky Pig Complex” LLC and breeding sows of the Large White breed from the SE “DG ...

Phylogeography and Population Genetics of Vicugna vicugna: Evolution in the Arid Andean High Plateau

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2019
The vicuña (Vicugna vicugna) is the most representative wild ungulate of the high Andes of South America with two recognized morphological subspecies, V. v. mensalis in the north and V. v. vicugna in the south of its distribution.

D-loops

open access: yes, 2012
$D$-loops are loops with the antiautomorphic inverse property. The class of such loops is larger than the class of IP-loops. The smallest $D$-loops which is not an IP-loop has six elements. We prove several basic properties of such loops and present methods of constructions of $D$-loops from IP-loops.

Thrown for a D-loop [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 2007
It won't force James Watson to retitle the Double Helix , but new research suggests that the three-stranded stretches that frequently turn up in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) aren't junk. Instead, the triple-stranded forms might provide a scaffold for a protein that helps mitochondria organize their ...
