Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Autosegmental spreading in optimality theory

open access: yes, 2011
This paper is a shorter version of ROA-1009 'Harmony in harmonic serialism'. Some material is omitted, but the overall presentation is probably clearer. The publisher of the book in which this excerpt appears does not permit the archiving of this or any ...

Optimality Theory: Constraint Interaction in Generative Grammar

open access: yes, 2002
This work develops a conception of grammar in which optimality with respect to a set of constraints defines well-formedness. The argument begins with a brief assessment of the promise of optimization-based approaches, focusing on issues of explanation ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Measuring Tax Efficiency: A Tax Optimality Index [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper introduces an index of tax optimality that measures the distance of a current tax structure from the optimal tax structure in the presence of public goods.

Morphologically Governed Accent in Optimality Theory

open access: yes, 1999
This dissertation examines the influence of morphological factors on stress and pitch accent. Two basic types are recognized. In root-controlled accent, inherent accent in a root overrides inherent affix accent; as a result, affixal accent is only ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Non-computable functions in Optimality Theory

open access: yes, 1999
Is Optimality Theory a constraining theory? A formal analysis shows that it is, if two auxiliary assumptions are made: (1) that only markedness and faithfulness constraints are allowed, and (2) that input and output representations are made from the same

D-Invexity and optimality conditions

open access: yes, 1991
In this paper, a generalization of convexity, called d-invexity, is introduced. Substituting d-invex for convex, we get some optimality conditions for nondifferentiable multiobjective programming.

The Interaction of Yer Deletion and Nasal Assimilation in Optimality Theory1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The problem of opacity presents a challenge for generative phonology. This paper examines the process of Nasal Assimilation in Polish rendered opaque by the process of Vowel Deletion in Optimality Theory (Prince & Smolensky, 1993), which currently is a ...
