The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Approximating quantum channels by completely positive maps with small Kraus rank [PDF]
We study the problem of approximating a quantum channel by one with as few Kraus operators as possible (in the sense that, for any input state, the output states of the two channels should be close to one another).

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Optimal State Transfer and Entanglement Generation in Power-Law Interacting Systems
We present an optimal protocol for encoding an unknown qubit state into a multiqubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-like state and, consequently, transferring quantum information in large systems exhibiting power-law (1/r^{α}) interactions.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Computational Optimality Theory
In Optimality Theory, a linguistic input is assigned a grammatical structural description by selecting, from an infinite set of candidate structural descriptions, the description which best satisfies a ranked set of universal constraints.

On the growth problem for D-optimal designs
When Gaussian elimination with complete pivoting (GECP) is applied to a real n×n matrix A, we will call g(n, A) the associated growth of the matrix. The problem of determining the largest growth g(n) for various values of n is called the growth problem. It seems quite difficult to establish a. value or close bounds for g(n). For specific values of n (n=

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

GNSS Monitoring Network Optimization Case Study: Opak Fault Deformation, Yogyakarta
Opak fault is a fault located in Opak River area, Bantul. The existence of the fault is one of the biggest causes of earthquake in Yogyakarta in 2006. The seismic potential caused by the active fault requires continuous geodynamic monitoring.
