Synthesis of allitol from D-psicose using ribitol dehydrogenase and formate dehydrogenase [PDF]

open access: yesTropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research, 2017
Purpose: To synthesize allitol from D-psicose by a combination of novel ribitol dehydrogenase (RDH) and formate dehydrogenase (FDH) under optimised production conditions. Methods: RDH and FDH genes were cloned and introduced into pET-22b(+) vectors for ...

The study on long-term toxicity of d-psicose in rats. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Clin Biochem Nutr, 2009
D-Psicose is a rare sugar present in small quantities in natural products. In a previous study, we showed that D-psicose suppresses plasma glucose increases and reduces body fat accumulation in rats. Based on acute toxicity testing in rats, D-psicose is classified as an ordinary substance (LD(50) = 16 g/kg). Elucidating the effects of long term feeding

Construction of hyperthermostable d-allulose 3-epimerase from Arthrobacter globiformis M30 using the sequence information from Arthrobacter psychrolactophilus. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio
d‐Allulose can be produced from d‐fructose by d‐allulose 3‐epimerase. Based on sequence homology information, we successfully engineered thermostable mutants with the protein engineering method. By integrating positive mutations, we constructed an enzyme that exhibits hyperthermostability without a loss in the activity.

Crystal structure of β-d,l-psicose

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
The title compound, C6H12O6, a C-3 position epimer of fructose, was crystallized from an aqueous solution of equimolar mixture of d- and l-psicose (1,3,4,5,6-pentahydroxyhexan-2-one, ribo-2-hexulose, allulose), and it was confirmed that d-psicose (or l ...

Reaction Engineering and Comparison of Electroenzymatic and Enzymatic ATP Regeneration Systems

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 10, Issue 22, November 14, 2023., 2023
An electrochemically coupled ATP regeneration by pyruvate oxidase and acetate kinase for the phosphorylation of mevalonate was established and expanded by a polyphosphate kinase. The reaction was characterized and compared with other ATP regenerating systems in terms of the phosphate donor properties and biocatalytic metrics.

Potent Inhibitory Effects of D-tagatose on the Acid Production and Water-insoluble Glucan Synthesis of Streptococcus mutans GS5 in the Presence of Sucrose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We examined and compared the inhibitory effects of D-tagatose on the growth, acid production, and water-insoluble glucan synthesis of GS5, a bacterial strain of Streptococcus mutans, with those of xylitol, D-psicose, L-psicose and L-tagatose.

A multi‐level approach reveals key physiological and molecular traits in the response of two rice genotypes subjected to water deficit at the reproductive stage

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 4, Issue 5, Page 229-257, October 2023., 2023
Two rice genotypes were subjected to a moderate water deficit applied during the reproductive phase. Multi‐level transcriptomic, metabolomic, physiological, and morphological analyses were performed to investigate the complex traits involved in their response to drought.
