On D12 modules

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we introduce Rad-D12 modules as a generalization of D12 modules. We also investigate some properties of Rad-?-supplemented modules relative to Rad-D12 modules. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a module to be Rad-D12 are obtained.

Antibiotics in the first week of life are not associated with functional gastrointestinal disorders at 9–12 years of age

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Dysbiosis due to early‐life antibiotics may contribute to the development of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs). This follow‐up study of a birth cohort primarily investigates the association between antibiotic treatment in the first week of life and the presence of FGIDs at 9–12 years.

Household food expenditures in the United States: A Bayesian MCMC approach to censored equation systems [PDF]

open access: yes
We apply a Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique, along with data augmentation to accommodate censoring in the dependent variables, to the estimation of a large expenditure system of food expenditures.

Quantum theory of spontaneous and stimulated emission of surface plasmons

open access: yes, 2010
We introduce a quantization scheme that can be applied to surface waves propagating along a plane interface. An important result is the derivation of the energy of the surface wave for dispersive non-lossy media without invoking any specific model for ...

The Dilemma of Carbon‐Conscious Consumers: A Multi‐Study Investigation of Carbon Transparency in AI Use

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes embedded in everyday consumer services, it introduces ethical dilemmas that extend beyond fairness and privacy. One underexplored concern is the environmental cost of AI, particularly its carbon footprint.

The three-point function of general planar maps

open access: yes, 2014
We compute the distance-dependent three-point function of general planar maps and of bipartite planar maps, i.e., the generating function of these maps with three marked vertices at prescribed pairwise distances.

Mass Spectrometry Structural Proteomics Enabled by Limited Proteolysis and Cross‐Linking

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The exploration of protein structure and function stands at the forefront of life science and represents an ever‐expanding focus in the development of proteomics. As mass spectrometry (MS) offers readout of protein conformational changes at both the protein and peptide levels, MS‐based structural proteomics is making significant strides in the
