Immunomodulatory Effect of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Scale Gelatin Peptides in RAW264.7 Macrophages and Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Currently, small‐molecular‐weight collagen peptides are a research hotspot in functional factor development due to their high bioavailability and diverse bioactivities. In this study, gelatin was extracted from tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) scales by hot water extraction, followed by pepsin hydrolysis and ultrafiltration to obtain the < 3 ...

DAF-16/FoxO directly regulates an atypical AMP-activated protein kinase gamma isoform to mediate the effects of insulin/IGF-1 signaling on aging in Caenorhabditis elegans.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2014
The DAF-16/FoxO transcription factor controls growth, metabolism and aging in Caenorhabditis elegans. The large number of genes that it regulates has been an obstacle to understanding its function.

Klippel‐Trénaunay‐Weber Syndrome: Prenatal Diagnosis and Review of the Literature

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 535-546, March/April 2025.
This meta‐analysis demonstrates the high diagnostic accuracy of SZ‐CEUS for differentiating between malignant and benign focal liver lesions, as well as for HCC from non‐HCC lesions. The study shows better performance for smaller lesions and those with a higher proportion of malignancy.

Biomaterials for resolution of peri‐implantitis: Consensus report of Workgroup 2 of the IADR Implantology Research Group Best Evidence Consensus Symposium on Peri‐Implant Disease and Its Treatment

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Peri‐implantitis is a destructive disease affecting the tissues surrounding dental implants. Biomaterials may be applied during surgical treatment to reconstruct bony defects and support soft tissue healing. However, current evidence is unclear if these treatments increase the likelihood of peri‐implantitis resolution.

One Hundred Years of the German Soil Science Society (DBG) 1926–2026: Origins, Facts, and Background of an Eventful History

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT On its 100th anniversary in 2026, the German Soil Science Society (DBG) is looking back not only on an eventful history with traditions and impressive achievements but also with painful interruptions and ruptures. One curious fact is that the DBG was initially founded as the national section of the International Soil Science Society (ISSS ...

Cell-nonautonomous signaling of FOXO/DAF-16 to the stem cells of Caenorhabditis elegans.

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2012
In Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), the promotion of longevity by the transcription factor DAF-16 requires reduced insulin/IGF receptor (IIR) signaling or the ablation of the germline, although the reason for the negative impact of germ cells is ...
