This work explores the use of various fillers, including eggshell powder, feather meal, peanut hulls, and sawdust to reinforce a base binder GFS90 (comprised of 90 wt.% sulfur, 5 wt.% chicken fat, and 5 wt.% sunflower oil). The resulting composites showed impressive compressive strengths ranging from 15.3 to 36.2 MPa, making them a potential ...

Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is characterized by anti‐modified protein antibodies (AMPAs), including anti‐citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA), anti‐carbamylated protein antibodies (anti‐CarP), and anti‐acetylated protein antibodies (AAPA). In contrast to other AMPAs, AAPA IgM is found in healthy individuals, raising questions about its role ...

Repression of a potassium channel by nuclear hormone receptor and TGF-β signaling modulates insulin signaling in Caenorhabditis elegans. [PDF]
Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling acts through Smad proteins to play fundamental roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and metabolism. The Receptor associated Smads (R-Smads) interact with DNA and other nuclear proteins to

Multiple scattering approach to DAFS
In this article we outline a general approach to the anomalous correction to the atomic scattering factor ab initio calculation based on the multiple scattering theory. This approach can be used for structural determination in any system and in particular in the surfaces where symmetry conditions make usual analysis impossible.

Abstract While large language models (LLMs) have shown promise as learning tools for medical education, their reported accuracy on multiple‐choice questions (MCQs) varies widely across studies, necessitating synthesis. This meta‐analysis synthesizes LLM accuracy on text‐based MCQs from biomedical disciplines and USMLE Step 1‐level content and explores ...

Equilibrium and Kinetics of Sin Nombre Hantavirus Binding at DAF/CD55 Functionalized Bead Surfaces
Decay accelerating factor (DAF/CD55) is targeted by many pathogens for cell entry. It has been implicated as a co-receptor for hantaviruses. To examine the binding of hantaviruses to DAF, we describe the use of Protein G beads for binding human IgG Fc ...

A DAF-3 co-Smad molecule functions in Haemonchus contortus development
Background The Smad proteins function in TGF-β signalling transduction. In the model nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, the co-Smad, DAF-3 mediates R-Smads and performs a central role in DAF-7 signal transduction, regulating dauer formation and ...
