Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

SAMPLING OF THE PLAN OF REPAIRS OF THE MAIN EQUIPMENT IN THE ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEM

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2017
The main aspects of creation of the formal-and-functional mathematical models supporting a system for prompt resolution of repair requires in a complex electric power system are considered in the article.

Variation in the ambulatory blood pressure response to daily work load--the moderating role of job control.

open access: yesScandinavian journal of work, environment & health, 1998
This quasi-experimental study tested the ambulatory blood pressure responsivity to daily variation in the work load of the same workers and examined whether this responsivity is moderated by perceived job control. The subjects were 79 nonshift, normotensive men who reported nearly almost equal occurrences of low and high work load in a typical workday ...

Relationship Between Training Load, Neuromuscular Fatigue, and Daily Well-Being in Elite Young Wrestlers [PDF]

open access: yes
Purpose: This study investigated acute workload (wAW), chronic workload (wCW), acute: chronic workload ratio (wACWR), training monotony (wTM), perceived load training strain indicators (wTS), and countermove- ment jump (CMJ) as indicators of wellness in ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Accelerometry-based variables in professional soccer players: Comparisons between periods of the season and playing positions

open access: yesBiology of Sport, 2020
The aim of this study was to provide reference data of variation in external training loads for weekly periods within the annual season. Specifically, we aimed to compare the weekly acute load, monotony, and training strain of accelerometry-based ...

The bone tissue remodeling in the proximal femur under the variations of hip joint daily loading history

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
