Effects of damage distribution on evolution
Recent micromechanically inspired phenomenological theories using internal state variable (ISV) representations of damage have been used to predict the thermomechanical behavior of microcracked solids.

Energy dissipation mechanism and damage model of marble failure under two stress paths [PDF]
Marble conventional triaxial loading and unloading failure testing research is carried out to analyze the elastic strain energy and dissipated strain energy evolutionary characteristics of the marble deformation process. The study results show that the

Damage variables and related effective stresses in continuum damage mechanics.
A systematic theory to describe the anisotropic damage states of materials and a consistent definition of effective stress tensors are developed. By introducing a fictitious undamaged configuration mechanically equivalent to the real damaged configuration, the classical creep damage theory is extended to the general three-dimensional states of material

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Prediction of material damage in orthotropic metals for virtual structural testing [PDF]
Models based on the Continuum Damage Mechanics principle are increasingly used for predicting the initiation and growth of damage in materials. The growing reliance on 3-D finite element (FE) virtual structural testing demands implementation and ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Meso-statistical damage constitutive model and validation of coal under CO2 - load coupling
CO2 adsorption causes damage degradation to the coal body and thus reduces its stability, challenging the long-term safety of CO2 sequestration, and it is important to clarify the role of CO2 degradation and establish an ontological model.
