We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Design and optimization of pneumatic locking control system for underground coal mine dampers
In practical applications of coal mines, there is a low-probability phenomenon of double-opening in pneumatic dampers. To solve the problem of pneumatic damper locking failure, we first analyze the action logic of the pneumatic damper in the default ...

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Modelling and design of a dual channel magnetorheological damper [PDF]
© Cranfield UniversityA limitation with the current analytical models for predicting the performance of a magnetorheological (MR) damper is that they fail to capture the hysteretic variation of force versus velocity variation correctly.
Bhatnagar, R.
core
An innovative passive energy damper is introduced and studied experimentally and numerically. This damper is designed as the main plate for energy absorption which is surrounded by an octagon cover.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Reduction of Pressure Pulsations over a Wide Frequency Range in Hydrostatic Systems
This article points out some of the forces acting on the components of a hydraulic system. These forces can lead to changes in the spectrum of pressure pulsations under certain conditions.

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Semi-Active Vibration Controllers for Magnetorheological Fluid-Based Systems via Frequency Shaping
This study introduces novel semi-active vibration controllers for magnetorheological (MR) fluid-based vibration control systems, specifically a band-pass frequency-shaped semi-active control (FSSC) and a narrow-band FSSC.
