Study on Optimization of Damping Performance and Damping Temperature Range of Silicone Rubber by Polyborosiloxane Gel [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2020
Polyborosiloxane gel (PBS-gel) with shear hardening properties was prepared by cross-linking boric acid and hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane through B–O–Si dynamic covalent bonding. The prepared PBS gel was mixed with methyl vinyl silicone rubber (MVQ), and a benzoyl peroxide (BPO) cross-linking agent was added to vulcanize the silicone rubber.

Research on damping performance and strength of the composite laminate [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
AbstractIn this paper, the influence of E-glass fiber volume fraction and laying angle on the damping and strength of composite laminates was comprehensively analyzed. By increasing the fiber laying angle and reducing the glass fiber volume fraction, the damping capacity of the composite laminate was increased, but the tensile strength of the laminate ...

Nacre-like composites with superior specific damping performance [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2022
Biological materials such as nacre have evolved microstructural design principles that result in outstanding mechanical properties. While nacre’s design concepts have led to bio-inspired materials with enhanced fracture toughness, the microstructural features underlying the remarkable damping properties of this biological material have not yet been ...

Multiscale hierarchical composite with extremely specific damping performance via bottom-up synergistic enhancement strategy

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
Existing hierarchical damping composites focus on either the intrinsic damping sources at the nanoscale or the damping excitation effect at the mesoscale, resulting in limited improvement in damping performance.

Vibration Isolation Performance of a Constrained Damping Base for a High-Pressure Plunger Pump

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Based on the effect of damped shear deformation on energy dissipation, a new constrained damping base for a polymer injection platform deck is proposed to reduce the excessive vibrations caused when multiple plunger pumps are jointly operated.

Synergistic Effect of HEDP.4Na and Different Induced Pouring Angles on Mechanical Properties of Fiber-Reinforced Alkali-Activated Slag Composites

open access: yesFibers, 2023
The poor flexural and damping properties of building materials damages concrete structures and affects their service life when concrete structures are subjected to dynamic loads. Three different dosages (i.e., 0%, 0.3%, and 0.6%) of organic phosphonates (
