The On-orbit Performance of DAMPE Trigger System [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 35th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2017), 2017
The DArk Matter Explorer (DAMPE) was launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at the altitude of 500 km on Dec 17, 2015. Its main scientific objective is to detect electrons and photons in the range of 5 GeV$\sim$10 TeV with a high energy resolution. A first investigation to the flight data shows that the trigger system operates quite well.

Performance of TMDI for Tall Building Damping [PDF]

open access: yesActuators, 2020
This study investigates the vibration reduction of tall wind-excited buildings using a tuned mass damper (TMD) with an inerter (TMDI). The performance of the TMDI is computed as a function of the floor to which the inerter is grounded as this parameter strongly influences the vibration reduction of the building and for the case when the inerter is ...

The performance of DAMPE for gamma-ray detection [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 35th International Cosmic Ray Conference — PoS(ICRC2017), 2017
As one of the important targets of the DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE), the GeV gamma- ray observations of DAMPE with good angular resolution, high energy resolution and high back- ground rejection facilitate the search of fine structures in the spectra of gamma-ray sources.

Low frequency damping of metal panels in ambient Air [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Mathematical models of structural dynamics are widely used and applied in many branches of science and engineering and it has been argued that many of the shortfalls with these models are due to the fact that the physics of joint dynamics are not ...

Dynamic Performance Analysis of a Compact Annular-Radial-Orifice Flow Magnetorheological Valve and Its Application in the Valve Controlled Cylinder System

open access: yesActuators, 2021
A compact annular-radial-orifice flow magnetorheological (MR) valve with variable radial damping gaps was proposed, and its structure and working principle were also described.

On the interaction of exponential non-viscous damping with symmetric nonlinearities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper studies the interaction between non-viscous damping and nonlinearities for nonlinear oscillators with reflection symmetry. The non-viscous damping function is an exponential damping model which adds a decaying memory property to the damping ...

Evaluation Damping Performance for Hydrostatic Bearing Film by Damping Ratio Scaling

open access: yesDEStech Transactions on Computer Science and Engineering, 2019
This paper investigates how to evaluate the damping ratio in practical measurement for hydrostatic bearing which possesses overdamped damping. The traditional methods such as decayed response, band width of resonant peak, transient response of step excitation and hysteresis circle cannot be utilized for get over overdamped behavior.

On the robustness of the average power ratios in damping estimation: application in the structural health monitoring of composites beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In composites structures, cracking, delamination will cause changes in the measured dynamic response of structure and so on experimentally modal parameters.
