THE AMERICAN DARK AGES

open access: yesIJASOS- International E-journal of Advances in Social Sciences, 2015
This article historically will review some cases for lynch culture which is again blacks in America. And will examine the term ‘Afro-American’. Cases like ‘Michael Brown’, ‘Eric Garner’ and ‘Antonio Martin’ are proof of violence is still going on again black society. Lynching is a part of America’s dark sides. Behind lynching, it lays a brutal history

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Searching for the dark force with 21-cm spectrum in light of EDGES

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
The EDGES Collaboration has recently announced the detection of the 21-cm spectrum with an absorption profile centred at 78 megahertz, of which the depth is deeper than that expected by the standard cosmological paradigm. To enrich the heating process of

The Cell Division Cycle of Euglena gracilis Indicates That the Level of Circadian Plasticity to the External Light Regime Changes in Prolonged-Stationary Cultures

open access: yesPlants, 2021
In unicellular photosynthetic organisms, circadian rhythm is tightly linked to gating of cell cycle progression, and is entrained by light signal. As several organisms obtain a fitness advantage when the external light/dark cycle matches their endogenous

Spectral and optical properties of Ag$_3$Au(Se$_2$,Te$_2$) and dark matter detection [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Materials 3, 014001, (2019), 2019
In this work we study the electronic structure of Ag${}_3$AuSe${}_2$ and Ag${}_3$AuTe${}_2$, two chiral insulators whose gap can be tuned through small changes in the lattice parameter by applying hydrostatic pressure or choosing different growth protocols.

Dark ages reionization & galaxy formation simulation XII: Bubbles at dawn

open access: yes, 2017
Direct detection of regions of ionized hydrogen (HII) has been suggested as a promising probe of cosmic reionization. Observing the redshifted 21-cm signal of hydrogen from the epoch of reionization (EoR) is a key scientific driver behind new-generation,

New light on 21 cm intensity fluctuations from the dark ages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fluctuations of the 21 cm brightness temperature before the formation of the first stars hold the promise of becoming a high-precision cosmological probe in the future.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

The atypical KRASQ22K mutation directs TGF‐β response towards partial epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in patient‐derived colorectal cancer tumoroids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐

The first spectral line surveys searching for signals from the Dark Ages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Our aim is to observationally investigate the cosmic Dark Ages in order to constrain star and structure formation models, as well as the chemical evolution in the early Universe. Spectral lines from atoms and molecules in primordial perturbations at high
