Evaluation of synaptotagmin‐1 action models by all‐atom molecular dynamics simulations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We used molecular dynamics simulations to test models proposing that synaptotagmin‐1 facilitates membrane fusion by perturbing lipid bilayers, inducing membrane curvature and/or bridging membranes. The simulations show that synaptotagmin‐1 C2‐domains placed near the site of fusion hinder the ability of SNARE complexes to bring the membranes together ...

Interacting cosmic fluids and phase transitions under a holographic modeling for dark energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss the consequences of possible sign changes of the $Q$-function which measures the energy transference between dark energy and dark matter. We investigate this scenario from a holographic perspective to modeling the dark energy by a linear-parametrization of the equation of state parameter denoted by $\omega$. By imposing the strong constraint

Astrometric Redshifts of Supernovae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Differential Chromatic Refraction (DCR) is caused by the wavelength dependence of our atmosphere’s refractive index, which shifts the apparent positions of stars and galaxies and distorts their shapes depending on their spectral energy distributions ...

Bouncing Cosmologies with Dark Matter and Dark Energy

open access: yesUniverse, 2016
We review matter bounce scenarios where the matter content is dark matter and dark energy. These cosmologies predict a nearly scale-invariant power spectrum with a slightly red tilt for scalar perturbations and a small tensor-to-scalar ratio. Importantly,

Comparative activity of dimethyl fumarate derivative IDMF in three models relevant to multiple sclerosis and psoriasis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IDMF is a derivative of dimethyl fumarate (DMF) with a unique therapeutic potential at the intersection of psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. Here, we demonstrate that it compares favorably with DMF and its other derivatives, such as Diroximel, in the zebrafish, microglia, and lymphocyte models.

Sub-MeV Dark Sink Dark Matter [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. D 111 (2025) 3, 035027
A Dark Sink uses dark-sector interactions to siphon energy from dark matter to lighter dark degrees of freedom, i.e. dark radiation. Here, we extend dark matter models containing a Dark Sink to sub-MeV masses. We consider a Dark Sink model where the dark matter is charged under a light dark photon that has kinetic mixing with the Standard Model.

Barrow entropic dark energy: A member of generalized holographic dark energy family

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
The holographic cut-off, in the formalism of generalized holographic dark energy (HDE), is generalized to depend on LIR=LIR(Lp,L˙p,L¨p,⋯,Lf,L˙f,⋯,a), where Lp and Lf are the particle horizon and future horizon respectively, and a is the scale factor of ...

DARK ENERGY IN PRACTICE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2010
In this paper we review a part of the approaches that have been considered to explain the extraordinary discovery of the late time acceleration of the Universe. We discuss the arguments that have led physicists and astronomers to accept dark energy as the current preferable candidate to explain the acceleration.

Mapping Hsp104 interactions using cross‐linking mass spectrometry

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study examines how cross‐linking mass spectrometry can be utilized to analyze ATP‐induced conformational changes in Hsp104 and its interactions with substrates. We developed an analytical pipeline to distinguish between intra‐ and inter‐subunit contacts within the hexameric homo‐oligomer and discovered contacts between Hsp104 and a selected ...
