Dark Matter in γ lines: Galactic Center vs. dwarf galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
International audienceWe provide CTA sensitivities to Dark Matter (DM) annihilation in γ-ray lines, from the observation of the Galactic Center (GC) as well as, for the first time, of dwarf Spheroidal galaxies (dSphs).

DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION IN THE CENTER OF THE DARK MATTER HALO [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics D, 2009
N-body simulations of dark matter halos show that the density profiles of the halos behave as ρ(r) ∝ r-α(r), where the density logarithmic slope α ≃ 1–1.5 in the center and α ≃ 3–4 in the outer parts of the halos. However, some observations are not in agreement with simulations in the very central region of the halos.

The dark matter content of early-type barred galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The dynamics of a barred galaxy depends on the pattern speed of its bar. The only direct method for measuring the pattern speed of a bar is the Tremaine-Weinberg technique.

Measurement of anisotropy of dark matter velocity distribution using directional detection

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Although the velocity distribution of dark matter is assumed to be generally isotropic, some studies have found that ~25% of the distribution can have anisotropic components.

Dark matter induced Brownian motion

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We discuss a novel approach for directional, light dark matter searches inspired by the high precision position measurements achieved in gravitational wave detectors.

Estimating Dark Matter Distributions

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2005
Thanks to instrumental advances, new, very large kinematic datasets for nearby dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxies are on the horizon. A key aim of these datasets is to help determine the distribution of dark matter in these galaxies. Past analyses have generally relied on specific dynamical models or highly restrictive dynamical assumptions.

Distribution of annihilation luminosities in dark matter substructure [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2010
We calculate the probability distribution function (PDF) of the expected annihilation luminosities of dark matter subhalos as a function of subhalo mass and distance from the Galactic center using a semi-analytical model of halo evolution. We find that the PDF of luminosities is relatively broad, exhibiting a spread of as much as an order of magnitude ...

Double-Disk Dark Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Based on observational tests of large scale structure and constraints on halo structure, dark matter is generally taken to be cold and essentially collisionless.

The Distribution of Satellite Galaxies in the IllustrisTNG100 Simulation

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2022
We investigate the spatial distribution of the satellites of isolated host galaxies in the IllustrisTNG100 simulation. In agreement with a previous, similar analysis of the Illustris-1 simulation, the satellites are typically poor tracers of the mean ...
