ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Fusion of multi source data for atmospheric corrosion evaluation using sensors and image recognition
s Detecting corrosion in Q235 steel is crucial for ensuring the safety and maintenance of industrial facilities. In this study, we present a novel approach that combines image recognition techniques with corrosion sensor data to improve both the accuracy

ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Inhibitor_Mol_VAE: a variational autoencoder approach for generating corrosion inhibitor molecules
Deep learning-based generative modeling demonstrates proven advantages as an effective approach in molecular discovery. This study introduces a generative-network based method called Inhibitor_Mol_VAE, which uses a variational autoencoder model to ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
