From conflict to ownership: Participatory approaches to the re-integration of ex-combatants in Sierra Leone [PDF]
The demobilisation and re-integration of ex-combatants has become an important element in peace-building. The need for a more holistic, integrated approach, in which there is greater local ownership of the process, has long been recognised.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related death. We investigated the role of the epigenetic regulator DMAP1 in NSCLC and found that its loss induces replication stress and DNA damage. This in turn activates type I IFN signaling via the cGAS–STING pathway and transcriptional ISG de‐repression, enhancing anti‐tumor immune responses ...

A Lagrangian Neighbourhood Theorem for shifted symplectic derived schemes [PDF]
Pantev, Toen, Vaqui\'e and Vezzosi arXiv:1111.3209 defined $k$-shifted symplectic derived schemes and stacks ${\bf X}$ for $k\in\mathbb Z$, and Lagrangians ${\bf f}:{\bf L}\to{\bf X}$ in them.

High‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is plagued by platinum resistance, with malignant ascites closely linked to poor outcomes. Here, we identify ASCOR, a circRNA enriched in ascites small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) from platinum‐resistant HGSOC patients, as a predictor of poor survival. ASCOR enhances platinum resistance in vitro and in vivo

TRIM25 acts as a multifunctional hub driving intervertebral disc degeneration under mechanical stress. Mechanical compression significantly upregulates TRIM25 expression, establishing it as a key E3 ubiquitin ligase platform. TRIM25 targets PARG and Ku80 via distinct molecular interfaces, triggering their ubiquitination and degradation.

Aerial Imagery Redefined: Next-Generation Approach to Object Classification
Identifying and classifying objects in aerial images are two significant and complex issues in computer vision. The fine-grained classification of objects in overhead images has become widespread in various real-world applications, due to recent ...

Glutamine deprivation triggers transient DNA damage yet activates adaptive repair in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. We identify TRIB3 as a stress‐induced nuclear scaffold that associates with DDX5 and G‐quadruplex DNA atBRCA1 andRAD51AP1 promoters. TRIB3 loss increases G4 accumulation, suppresses HR gene transcription, elevates γ‐H2A.X, and sensitizes

In colorectal cancer, high expression of the DNA repair protein EEPD1 correlates with immune exclusion and poor prognosis. This study demonstrates that EEPD1 depletion induces genomic instability, leading to cytosolic DNA accumulation and subsequent activation of the cGAS‐STING‐type I interferon pathway. This cascade remodels the tumor microenvironment
