1-Deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin in the treatment of central diabetes insipidus in childhood

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1978
The effectiveness of therapy with carbamazepine and clofibrate (oral therapy), intramuscular pitressin-in-oil, and intranasal 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin has been compared in 15 children with partial or complete central diabetes insipidus.

Normal response of factor VIII and von Willebrand factor to 1-deamino-8D-arginine vasopressin in nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.

Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 1988
The effects of 1-deamino-8D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) on plasma factor VIII and von Willebrand factor (vWF) levels were studied in four patients with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) from two unrelated families. While the urine osmolality remained

Central diabetes insipidus in children. Antidiuretic effect and pharmacokinetics of intranasal and peroral 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin.

Acta Endocrinologica, 1987
The antidiuretic effect and pharmacokinetics of 10 to 20 micrograms of intranasal (IN) and 200 to 400 micrograms of oral (po) 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) were studied in 10 paediatric diabetes insipidus patients.

Treatment of oligohydramnios with maternal 1-deamino-[8-D-arginine] vasopressin–induced plasma hypoosmolality

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1996
Maternal 1-deamino-[8-D-arginine] vasopressin (a selective antidiuretic agonist) and oral water loading decrease maternal and fetal plasma osmolality and markedly increase fetal urine flow in sheep. We hypothesized that a titrated reduction in maternal plasma osmolality would increase human amniotic fluid volume.Pregnant women (n = 5) with ...

BIOLOGICAL HALF‐LIVES AND ORGAN DISTRIBUTION OF TRITIATED 8‐LYSINE‐VASOPRESSIN AND 1‐DEAMINO‐8‐D‐ARGININE‐VASOPRESSIN IN BRATTLEBORO RATS

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1982
The biological half-lives and organ distribution of tritiated 8-lysine-vasopressin and 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin were determined in R-Amsterdam rats and in homozygous and heterozygous Brattleboro rats with hereditary central diabetes insipidus. It was found that the biological half-lives of [3H]LVP and [3H]dDAVP in the Brattleboro rats did not

Subcutaneous and intranasal administration of 1-deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin in the assessment of renal concentration capacity.

Nephron, 1987
Maximum urine concentration capacity was studied in healthy adults using different routes and doses of administration of 1-deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP)-desmopressin.

Effects of arginine-8-vasopressin and 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin on ACTH secretion in rats.

Endocrinologia experimentalis, 1983
The corticotropin-releasing effect of arginine-8-vasopressin (AVP) has been compared to that of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin (dDAVP) in male rats of R-Amsterdam strain. AVP increased the level of ACTH and corticosterone in the peripheral blood in a dose-dependent manner.

BIOLOGICAL HALF-LIFE AND ORGAN DISTRIBUTION OF [3H]1-DEAMINO-8-d-ARGININE-VASOPRESSIN IN THE RAT

Journal of Endocrinology, 1981
The biological half-life of synthetic, radiochemically pure, biologically active [3H]1-deamino-8-d-arginine-vasopressin (dDAVP) in rats was found to be 5·33 ± 0·28 (s.e.m.) min in the initial, transitional, fast phase and 56·28 ± 3·27 min in the second, slow phase.

1-Deamino-8 D-arginine vasopressin decreases the production of 13-hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid by endothelial cells

Thrombosis Research, 1992
1-Deamino-8 D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) has been used effectively to normalize the bleeding time in various hemostatic disorders. In von Willebrand disease the reduction in bleeding time is due to the preferential release of large multimers of von Willebrand factor from endothelial cells.
