1-deamino-/4-valine-8-D-arginine/-vasopressin (dVDAVP), a new synthetic vasopressin analog for treating diabetes insipidus.

open access: closedInternational journal of clinical pharmacology, therapy, and toxicology, 1982
The effects of LVP, dDAVP, and dVDAVP on the water excretion of 14 vasopressin-sensitive and 2 ADH-resistant patients with diabetes insipidus were studied and compared. Findings showed that dDAVP and dVDAVP decreased the diuresis of all ADH-sensitive patients, and in those with diabetes insipidus, more markedly (7.6-fold) and for a longer duration (3.3-

A bivariate radioimmunoassay for arginine vasopressin and the synthetic antidiuretic agent 1-deamino-8-d-arginine vasopressin (desmopressin)

Analytical Biochemistry, 1984
Pairs of radioimmunoassays, each of which include a two-dimensional matrix of standards, have been previously employed to resolve specificity problems in steroid immunoassay. In this study the bivariate radioimmunoassay principle has been applied to simultaneous measurement of plasma antidiuretic hormone, arginine vasopressin, and the synthetic ...

1-Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin Lowers Protein C Activity in Uremics

Nephron, 1989
The effect of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) on protein C was investigated in 10 uremics and 10 normal subjects. The protein C antigen was higher in the uremic patients than in the normal subjects. DDAVP had no influence on the level of protein C antigen.

Molecular mechanisms involved in analgesic effects of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine-vasopressin under thermal exposure and electrocutaneous stimulation in rats

Medical academic journal
BACKGROUND: The analgesic properties of arginine vasopressin and its synthetic analogue, 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin, are known. However, it is difficult to use neuropeptides in clinical practice due to the possible development of side effects ...
