The properties of film prepared from round scad (Decapterus maruadsi) stored in ice for different times were investigated. Degradation of myosin heavy chain (MHC) was more pronounced with the coincidental increase in total volatile base and trimethylamine contents as the storage time increased (P 0.05).

Hyperostosis in Fishes: An Update With New Species Records
Hyperostosis is an enigmatic dimension of diversity in the anatomy of fishes. This excessive overgrowth of bone is natural in origin, occurs almost exclusively in marine fishes, is generally species‐specific, and becomes fully developed only in large individuals. We document hyperostosis in 35 families, 89 genera, and 153 species.

This study aims to optimize the sampling efforts for effective eDNA biomonitoring of marine vertebrates by comparing different combinations of volumes and replicates. Sampling 1 L per replicate underestimated biodiversity, whereas sampling 4 L represented the most efficient sampling volume.
