AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Developing Inductive–Deductive Models with Cognitive Conflict to Enhance Students Problem-Solving and Confidence

open access: yesIdeguru
The ability to solve problems in math and confidence are two crucial skills that need to be built in math learning in the 21st century. However, many students have a challenge in understanding concepts in depth and applying them to solve problems.

Philosophy and the practice of Bayesian statistics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A substantial school in the philosophy of science identifies Bayesian inference with inductive inference and even rationality as such, and seems to be strengthened by the rise and practical success of Bayesian statistics.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

An Abstract Approach to Consequence Relations

open access: yes, 2019
We generalise the Blok-J\'onsson account of structural consequence relations, later developed by Galatos, Tsinakis and other authors, in such a way as to naturally accommodate multiset consequence.

Who is a theorist? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article carefully analyzes a recent paper by Weisberg in which it is claimed that when Mendeleev discovered the periodic table he was not working as a modeler but instead as a theorist.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Confirmation of driving principle by weight analysis of Integration Neural Network and extension of deductive approximator

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing
Simulation-based optimization often requires many simulations and can be difficult to adapt due to time constraints. To solve this problem, constructing approximators for simulations, such as the finite element method using machine learning, has ...

JUPITER, HERCULES AND HERMES: REFLECTIONS ON THE DISCRETIONARY BOND INTERPRETIVE EACH

open access: yesRevista Eletrônica de Direito Processual, 2020
The goal to be achieved in the first instance is to make some reflections on the mythological models judge, brought by François Ost in your text Jupiter, Hercules y Hermes: three models juez, and their levels of discretion in their decisions.
