Entropy: From Thermodynamics to Hydrology
Some known results from statistical thermophysics as well as from hydrology are revisited from a different perspective trying: (a) to unify the notion of entropy in thermodynamic and statistical/stochastic approaches of complex hydrological systems and ...

Deductive Machine Learning Challenges and Opportunities in Chemical Applications
Contemporary machine learning algorithms have largely succeeded in automating the development of mathematical models from data. Although this is a striking accomplishment, it leaves unaddressed the multitude of scenarios, especially across the chemical ...

Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Mental Models in Deductive Reasoning
We report research investigating the role of mental models in deduction. The first study deals with conjunctive inferences (from one conjunction and two conditional premises) and disjunctive inferences (from one disjunction and the same two conditionals).

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Aplikasi al-Qawâ‘id al-Fiqhîyah sebagai Nalar Deduktif dalam Istinbât Hukum Islam
This paper discusses the application of al-qawâ‘id al-fiqhîyah (legal principles) as deductive reason in legal reasoning through usûl al-fiqh approach. This paper seeks to answer a problem of how deductive reason using al-qawâ‘id al-fiqhîyah is regarded ...

Reasoning about hybrid reasoning : a discussion [PDF]
In this discussion we outline an approach to reasoning about hybrid reasoning systems. We believe that following this approach allows theoretical results to be obtained rapidly, allows a high level of understanding about the relationship between ...

Nickel–aluminum composite oxide (NiAlOx‐300) derived from NiAl layered double hydroxide showed high activity for hydrogenolysis of various lignin models. Especially, hydrogenolysis of benzyl phenyl ether could be efficiently proceeded at 20°C and 1 MPa H2.

Integration rather than age influences the performance of deductive reasoning
This work merges from our interest for the evolution of deductive reasoning across the life cycle from youth to older age. With time, reasoning resources seem to be compromised and constrained, even if on the other side they seem more flexible.

Machine‐Learning Microfluidic Minute‐Scale Microorganism Metrics Monitoring(M6)
ABSTRACT On‐site monitoring of microorganisms remains challenging because of low concentrations, strong background interference, and dynamic aerosol diffusion, particularly for aerosol‐transmitted pathogens. Here, we report a rapid detection platform that integrates a Puri‐focusing microfluidic chip, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and ...
