Deep drawing of magnesium alloys: A review

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Magnesium alloy, the lightest structural metal substance currently known, has garnered a great deal of interest in recent times. Magnesium alloys not only offer high specific strength, high specific stiffness, and low density, but they also have ...

Application of Dual - Phase Steel in Deep - Drawing Process [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2005
Deep drawing was carried out on circular blanks having a thickness of (0.6 mm) from low carbon steel ( 0.07% C ) & dual phase steel using a conical die having die semi - angle of ( 20 ° ) and throat diameter of ( 13.8mm) with punch of ( 12 mm ) diameter .

Equivalent drawbead performance in deep drawing simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Drawbeads are applied in the deep drawing process to improve the control of the material flow\ud during the forming operation. In simulations of the deep drawing process these drawbeads can be replaced by\ud an equivalent drawbead model.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Optimization of Segmented Blank Holder Shape and Its Variable Blank Holder Gap in Deep-Drawing Process

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2012
Optimum segmented blank holder shape and its variable blank holder gaps (VBHGs) are determined by a sequential approximate optimization (SAO) with radial basis function network. In deep drawing, wrinkling and tearing of blank sheet are major defects. The

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Deformation Behavior of Reverse Deep Drawing of 5A06 Aluminum Alloy Plate

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2017
The limit drawing ratio is influenced by the bending and unbending effect during reverse deep drawing of plate. The 5A06 aluminum alloy plate widely applied in aerospace industry was used, and the reverse deep drawing of the 4.5mm thick plate was ...

Modelling of aluminium sheet forming at elevated temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The formability of Al–Mg sheet can be improved considerably, by increasing the temperature. By heating the\ud sheet in areas with large shear strains, but cooling it on places where the risk of necking is high, the limiting drawing ratio\ud can be ...

Pressure Lubricated Deep Drawing

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1961
In this paper, a method promoting a fluid lubrication in the deep drawing of sheet metals is introduced. Possibilities of this method are proved by laboratory scale experiments on aluminium and reported. It is shown that the process brought about many encouraging results for the improvement of the drawing ratio.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
