Simulation of Metal Flow to Investigate the Application of Antilock Brake Mechanic System in Deep Drawing Process of Cup [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents the importance of simulation of metal flow in deep drawing process which employs an antilock brake mechanic system. Controlling the force and friction of the blank holder is imperative to assure that the sheet metal is not locked on ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Tailoring Thermal Energy Supply Towards the Advanced Control of Deformation Mechanisms in 3D Forming of Paper and Board

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
The temperature of the tools and the moisture content of the material play a significant role in the 3D forming of paperboard in terms of the degree of forming and the quality of the formed part.

A novel indicator for kinematic hardening effect quantification in deep drawing simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Deep drawing simulation techniques reduce tool design costs and improve tool performance and reliability. In terms of strain hardening, mixed models capturing the kinematic effect are sometimes more accurate than isotropic models.

Thermo-mechanical Forming of Al–Mg–Si Alloys: Modeling and Experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In an ongoing quest to realize lighter vehicles with improved fuel efficiency, deformation characteristics of the material AA 6016 is investigated. In the first part of this study, material behavior of Al–Mg–Si sheet alloy is investigated under different

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Comparison of Common Deep Drawing Steel Sheets in terms of Blank Holder Force and Friction Conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2018
In this study, it is aimed to make comparison of four different steel sheet materials that are widely used in deep drawing applications by taking blank holder force and friction conditions into account.

The breakage prediction for hydromechanical deep drawing based on local bifurcation theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A criterion of sheet metal localized necking under plane stress was established based on the bifurcation theory and the characteristics theory of differential equation. In order to be capable to incorporate the directional dependence of the plastic strain

Texture evolution during deep-drawing processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
peer reviewedThis paper presents a constitutive law based on Taylor’s model implemented in our non-linear finite element code LAGAMINE. The yield locus is only locally described and a particular interpolation method has been developed.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
