Reproductive patterns of deep-sea invertebrates related to phylogeny and energy availability
Reproductive strategies and their interaction with the environment play a major role in the shaping of ecosystems. However, while our understanding of the diversity, biogeography and ecology of deep-sea invertebrates has increased considerably in the ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Reproduction and larval biology of North Atlantic asteroids related to the invasion of the deep sea
A very important objective of ecological research is to explain the evolution of life histories, more specifically how natural selection modifies reproduction and development in order to generate the patterns that are observed in nature.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Biological activities of ethanolic extracts from deep-sea antarctic marine sponges
We report on the screening of ethanolic extracts from 33 deep-sea Antarctic marine sponges for different biological activities. We monitored hemolysis, inhibition of acetylcholinesterase, cytotoxicity towards normal and transformed cells and growth ...

Fe‐oxidizing microorganisms in deep‐sea hydrothermal vent environments are often used as analogs for primordial life on Earth. In fact, Earth's oldest purported microfossils are preserved as hematite filaments in a jasper rock dated between 4,160 and 4 ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
