Factors Related to Superior and Inferior Hemifield Defects in Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma
Purpose. We aimed to investigate factors related to superior and inferior hemifield defects in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Methods. Sixty-seven subjects with newly diagnosed, untreated POAG underwent optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the disc

Topological defect lines and renormalization group flows in two dimensions
We consider topological defect lines (TDLs) in two-dimensional conformal field theories. Generalizing and encompassing both global symmetries and Verlinde lines, TDLs together with their attached defect operators provide models of fusion categories ...

A relative theory is a boundary condition of a higher-dimensional topological quantum field theory (TQFT), and carries a non-trivial defect group formed by mutually non-local defects living in the relative theory.

Let \(G\) be a finite group. To determine when a given \(p\)-subgroup \(D\) of \(G\) is a defect group is an open problem in the modular representation theory of finite groups. In the present paper the author finds necessary and sufficient conditions in the case when \(D\) is a strong \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\). By definition a \(p\)-subgroup \(D\) of \(G\

Algebras and Dihedral Defect Groups
Let F be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2, and let G be a finite group. Let B be a block of the group algebra FG with dihedral defect group D of order \(2^ n\). It has been proved by \textit{R. Brauer} [Symp. Math. 13, 367-393 (1974; Zbl 0288.20010)] that B has either 1, 2 or 3 simple modules.

Blocks with trivial intersection defect groups [PDF]
The main result of the paper under review gives a classification of blocks of finite groups with TI defect groups, up to Morita equivalence: Either the defect groups of such a block are cyclic or generalized quaternion, or the block is Morita equivalent to a block in an explicit list of examples.
