Broué’s abelian defect group conjecture for alternating groups [PDF]
We establish Broué’s abelian defect group conjecture for the alternating groups, using the Chuang-Rouquier theorem (proving this for the symmetric groups) and a descent result.

2-blocks with abelian defect groups [PDF]
We give a classification, up to Morita equivalence, of 2-blocks of quasi-simple groups with abelian defect groups. As a consequence, we show that Donovan's conjecture holds for elementary abelian 2-groups, and that the entries of the Cartan matrices are bounded in terms of the defect for arbitrary abelian 2-groups. We also show that a block with defect

The ubiquitin system in normal and infected germinal center B cells
The ubiquitin system plays a central role in germinal center (GC) B cells, influencing differentiation to long‐lived memory B cells. Oncogenic gammaherpesviruses gain access to memory B cells by establishing latency in GC B cells. Mapping ubiquitin mechanisms in normal and infected GC B cells will define specific molecular circuits in B cells germane ...

Lower defect groups in symmetric groups
Multiplicities of lower defect groups, as introduced by R. Brauer, are important invariants of a block. For example, they can be used to compute the numbers of irreducible ordinary and modular characters and the elementary divisors of its Cartan matrix.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Lysyl oxidase (LOX)‐mediated remodeling of the extracellular matrix
The lysyl oxidase (LOX) family of enzymes drives extracellular matrix remodeling by oxidizing collagen, elastin, and fibronectin, promoting covalent cross‐link formation. This activity regulates tissue architecture and mechanical properties, while its dysregulation contributes to fibrosis, cardiovascular disease, glaucoma, connective tissue disorders ...
