TRIM: Simultaneous Thermometry, Ranging, and Imaging via a Monolithic Metalens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While metasurfaces offer a pathway beyond the discrete architectures of conventional LWIR systems, physically fusing high‐precision thermometry and passive ranging onto a single metalens remains a formidable challenge. Here, we demonstrate a monolithic, dual‐focus metalens capable of simultaneous multidimensional sensing.

Allosteric Inhibition of Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 by an EZH2‐Selective Small Molecule Inhibitor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study characterizes C36, a highly selective EZH2/PRC2 inhibitor that acts via a novel allosteric mechanism. Unlike previous inhibitors, C36 inhibits EZH2/PRC2 by disrupting the allosteric communication between EZH2 and EED in a SAM‐noncompetitive manner.

Effects of atropine, orthokeratology lenses, defocus contact lenses, and Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments spectacle lenses on choroidal thickness

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association
This study aimed to compare the effects of various myopia control methods, including atropine, orthokeratology (OK) lenses, defocus soft contact lenses (MiSight®, MS), and defocus incorporated multiple segment spectacle lenses (Hyoa Miyosmart®, HY), on choroidal thickness in children with myopia. This single-center, retrospective study was conducted at ...

Conformational Snapshots of CydDC in a Native Lipid Bilayer Coupling Heme Transport to Antibiotic Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phylogenetic and biochemical analyses of the heme transporter CydDC reveal its functional conservation throughout bacterial evolution and demonstrate its unique asymmetric allosteric mechanism. Furthermore, impairment of CydDC function directly affects bacterial antibiotic resistance and likely compromises antibiotic efficacy through drug efflux.

Reduced myopia progression with low-dose atropine in DIMS non-responders and evidence of altered pupillary light reflex kinetics

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study evaluated the efficacy of adding nightly 0.025% atropine to Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (DIMS) spectacle treatment in children with ongoing myopia progression and explored whether dynamic pupillometry could help identify such ...

Hardware‐Attentive Programmable Fourier Ptychography Enables Task‐Adaptive Label‐Free Virtual Staining

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Task‐adaptive programmable optics enables label‐free virtual staining through optical‐attention‐guided acquisition and reconstruction. By optimizing wavelength, illumination angle, exposure time, and imaging depth, the framework learns task‐relevant optical measurements, generating clinically interpretable virtual stains with improved fidelity, non ...

MAM‐Localized MANF Counteracts Microinflammatory Stress to Attenuate Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Cataractogenesis in High Myopia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic microinflammation in high myopia suppresses MANF in lens epithelial cells. MANF normally resides within MAMs and promotes ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of the ER Ca2+ pump SERCA2. MANF loss causes pathological SERCA2 accumulation, MAM hyperassembly, and disrupted ER‐to‐mitochondria Ca2+ transfer, leading to mitochondrial failure, oxidative ...
