Rate of Development of Hallucal Interphalangeal Degenerative Joint Disease After First Metatarsophalangeal Joint Arthrodesis

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2018
Category: Midfoot/Forefoot Introduction/Purpose: The first metatarsophalangeal joint (MTPJ) is an integral part of the foot during the gait cycle. Arthrodesis of this joint is gold standard, especially in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

A Glucose‐Responsive Intelligent Antibacterial and Oxygen‐Producing Hydrogel Promotes the Healing of Diabetic Wounds by Regulating Cellular Heterogeneity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We have developed a glucose‐triggered on‐demand drug delivery CF‐CPGaMPN hydrogel based on borate ester bonds. It inactivates microbes, releases oxygen, and enables on‐demand drug release in high‐glucose environments to promote healing of diabetic wounds. Single‐cell sequencing reveals that the CF‐CPGaMPN hydrogel significantly alleviates dysfunctional

Injectable Chondroitin Sulfate Methacrylate Hydrogel Microspheres Co‐Loaded with GLPM Nanozyme, Dexamethasone, and Stem Cells for Synergistic Osteoarthritis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional injectable microsphere system is fabricated via UV‐assisted microfluidic cross‐linking, integrating nanozyme‐based ROS scavenging, sustained dexamethasone release, and stem cell delivery. Upon IA injection, the microspheres adapt to joint stress, suppress inflammation, and promote cartilage regeneration, offering a minimally invasive ...

Relationship between Feline Knee Joint Osteoarthritis and Bone Mineral Density Quantified Using Computed Tomography and Computed Digital Absorptiometry

open access: yesAnimals
Osteoarthritis (OA), including knee joint OA, is a common chronic condition in cats. In both cats and humans, knee joint OA is characterized radiographically by the presence of osteophytes, enthesiophytes, subchondral sclerosis, and joint space narrowing.

Sirt3 Genetically Engineered Apoptotic Bodies Alleviate Skeletal Aging by Limiting Aggravated NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation of Senescent Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The senescence of macrophages leads to a decrease in the expression of Sirtuin3 (Sirt3), which in turn aggravates the NLRP3 inflammasome activation and IL‐1β secretion, thereby promoting the aging‐related osteoporosis. Sirt3‐enriched apoptotic bodies (ABs‐Sirt3) generated through genetic editing approaches can alleviate skeletal aging by targeting ...

4‐Hydroxybenzyl Alcohol Mitigates Hyperlipidemia‐Associated Depression by Inhibiting Neuroinflammation via the NKIRAS2/NF‐κB Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
4‐HBA upregulates NKIRAS2 levels, inhibiting the activation of the NF‐κB pathway and subsequently reducing the levels of neuroinflammatory markers. This modulation helps restore normal mood and behavior in hyperlipidemic conditions, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for managing hyperlipidemia‐associated depression.
