Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Periodic solution of a bioeconomic fishery model by coincidence degree theory

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2023
In this article we use coincidence degree theory to study the existence of a positive periodic solutions to the following bioeconomic model in fishery dynamics \begin{equation*}\label{eq1.3} \begin{cases} \frac{dn}{dt} = n \left(r(t) \left(1-\frac{n ...

Comparing the degrees of incompatibility inherent in probabilistic physical theories

open access: yes, 2013
We introduce a new way of quantifying the degrees of incompatibility of two ob- servables in a probabilistic physical theory and, based on this, a global measure of the degree of incompatibility inherent in such theories, across all observable pairs ...

Remarks on the Degree Theory

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1994
The authors present a unified approach to the notion of degree for rectifiable currents and for approximately differentiable mappings with an \(L^ 1\) Jacobian determinant. Let \(T = \tau({\mathcal M}, \theta, {\mathbf T})\) be a rectifiable \(n\)-dimensional current in \(\mathbb{R}^ k \times \mathbb{R}^ n\), call \(\pi : \mathbb{R}^ k \times \mathbb{R}

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Signal Nonstationary Degree Evaluation Method Based on Moving Statistics Theory

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Nonstationary signal refers to the signal whose statistics change with time, and its nonstationary degree evaluation can provide effective support for the evaluation of the operating state of the signal source.

A note on the graded K-theory of certain graded rings

open access: yes, 2011
Following ideas of Quillen it is shown that the graded K-theory of a Z^n-graded ring with support contained in a pointed cone is entirely determined by the K-theory of the subring of degree-0 elements.Comment: 4 ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Semilinear problems involving nonlinear operators of monotone type

open access: yesResults in Nonlinear Analysis, 2019
This is a survey article on semilinear problems with a non-symmetric linear part and a nonlinear part of monotone type in real Hilbert spaces. We study the solvability of semilinear inclusions in the nonresonance and resonance cases.

Topological degree theory and Caputo–Hadamard fractional boundary value problems

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
We study two hybrid and non-hybrid fractional boundary value problems via the Caputo–Hadamard type derivatives. We seek the existence criteria for these two problems separately.
