The First Archaeomagnetic Age at Tiwanaku and Implications for Dating Andean Metallurgical Furnaces

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 317-329, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the first archaeomagnetic dating at Tiwanaku (Andean Altiplano). We compared the geomagnetic field values recorded by a metallurgical furnace against an updated SHAWQ2k‐SH global model and a regional intensity curve, both of which include, for the first time, high‐quality intensity data from the Southern Hemisphere. Acquisition of Self‐Reversed Magnetization in Greigite Driven by Antiparallel Vortex‐Core Coupling During Low‐Temperature Oxidation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Self‐reversed magnetization, acquired antiparallel to the external field, can complicate the interpretation of paleomagnetic directional records, particularly in altered greigite‐bearing sediments with anomalous magnetizations. The underlying physical process for this self‐reversal remains poorly constrained.

Resolving the Internal Magnetic Domain Structure of Cloudy Zone Tetrataenite

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Recent advances in magnetic imaging can directly capture the internal magnetization of natural and synthetic materials at resolutions <10 nm. This capability opens new possibilities to determine the magnetic domain state of ferromagnetic minerals that are fundamental for recording and retaining paleomagnetic records.

Analysis of the influence of abnormally grown grains on demagnetization behavior of FeNdB sintered magnets

open access: yesAIP Advances
This study investigates the influence of abnormally grown grains on the magnetic properties of FeNdB sintered magnets. Specifically, the local demagnetization process caused by abnormally grown grains in the microstructure was analyzed by dynamic Kerr ...

4D Printing of Multimaterial Flexible Magneto‐Active Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 9, 6 May 2026.
Magneto‐active polymers are 3D‐printed with tunable mechanical and magnetic properties using both superparamagnetic and hard ferromagnetic fillers. Nano‐CT imaging reveals the spatial distribution of particles within the matrix. Programmable magnetization patterns and soft, flexible architectures enable responsive actuation, offering exciting ...

Cryptic Paleomagnetic Complexity in the Ediacaran Egersund Dikes

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The Ediacaran Period (∼635–539 Ma) represents a critical interval in Earth's evolution, yet its paleomagnetic record remains complex and contentious. One of the few Ediacaran paleomagnetic results from Baltica considered robust is a pole from the ca.

Correlation of magnetic characteristics and fractal dimension of magneto-optical images of permanent magnets

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов
The article continues a series of studies of permanent magnets with different magnetization reversal mechanisms (nucleation, domain boundary displacement).
