Ultrafast Transitions in X‐Ray Irradiated Solids
ABSTRACT In this review, we present current developments on modeling ultrafast transitions in solids triggered by intense, atto‐ to femtosecond pulses from X‐ray free electron lasers. This specific irradiation regime requires dedicated simulation tools based on theoretical and computational methods, involving the elements of classical and quantum ...

Some peculiarities of spin-wave propagation in magnonic waveguides
A normal-mode theory for the dipole-exchange spin-wave spectrum in the finite-width ferromagnetic waveguide is presented. The theory takes into account a nonuniform character of the demagnetizing field in the waveguide cross section and, therefore, can ...

We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...

Computation of the magnetostatic interaction between linearly magnetized polyhedrons
In this paper we present a method to accurately compute the energy of the magnetostatic interaction between linearly (or uniformly, as a special case) magnetized polyhedrons. The method has applications in finite element micromagnetics, or more generally

XAHRM‐Lab First Results and πXRF First View of UFe4Al8 and UFe10Si2
ABSTRACT Following the installation of the Laboratory for the Characterization and Speciation of Aerosols (LCEA) in 2008, and the confirmation of High Resolution Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (HiREDS) as a much promising development for X‐ray Emission Spectrometry in general and Particle Induced X‐ray Emission (PIXE) in particular, the installation of

Evidence for Possible Phase-Separations in RuSr2(Gd,Ce)2Cu2O10-delta
An unusual thermal-magnetic hysteresis was observed between a minor magnetic transition around 120 K and the main one at 80 K in superconducting RuSr2(R,Ce)2Cu2O10-delta (Ru1222R) samples, where R = Gd or Eu, down to a submicron length-scale.

The Megalopolis Basin is located in the central Peloponnese (Greece), a region that is situated along one of the primary Pleistocene biogeographical corridors for intracontinental hominin migration. The basin comprises several hundred metres of Plio‐Pleistocene sediments alternating between clastics and lignites.

Magnetic memory and distinct spin populations in ferromagnetic Co3Sn2S2
Co3Sn2S2, a ferromagnetic Weyl semi-metal with Co atoms on a kagome lattice, has generated much recent attention. Experiments have identified a temperature scale below the Curie temperature. Here, we find that this magnet keeps a memory, when not exposed
