An Assessment of Microtransit Impacts on its Substitution and Complementarity with other Modes

open access: yesFindings
In March of 2022, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, or MARTA, which had previously been a fixed-route system only, implemented a demand-responsive transit system called MARTA Reach.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Demand-responsive transit systems in areas with low transport demand of “smart city”

open access: yesTransportation Research Procedia, 2020
Abstract The development of modern telecommunications allows the concept of a “smart city” to increase the flexibility of public transportation significantly and, thus, improve population mobility. In this regard, public transportation represents a demand-responsive transit (DRT) system.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Older people and local public transit: Mobility effects of accessibility improvements in Sweden

open access: yesJournal of Transport and Land Use, 2009
Several transportation factors concerning older and disabled people are under transition in Sweden at present. By the year 2010, the public transit system must be fully accessible for all passengers.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Arterial traffic signal optimization: a person-based approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a traffic responsive signal control system that optimizes signal settings based on minimization of person delay on arterials. The system's underlying mixed integer linear program minimizes person delay by explicitly accounting for the

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.
