Advances in Position‐Momentum Entanglement: A Versatile Tool for Quantum Technologies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Position–momentum entanglement constitutes a high‐dimensional continuous‐variable resource in quantum optics. Recent advances in its generation, characterization, and control are reviewed, with emphasis on spontaneous parametric down‐conversion and modern measurement techniques.

Grating‐Lens Empowered Metafiber for Large‐Angle Light Collection With 3D Nanoprinted Structures

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A grating‐lens‐based Metafiber enables efficient light coupling into single‐mode fibers at large incidence angles. By combining diffraction and focusing on the fiber facet using a 3D nanoprinted holographic structure, light is selectively coupled only at specific angles while suppressing unwanted signals. This approach achieves high coupling efficiency

Phase Multiplexed Optical Computing: Reconfiguring a Multi‐Task Diffractive Optical Processor Using Illumination Phase Diversity

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A monochrome multi‐task diffractive optical network architecture is designed to leverage illumination‐phase multiplexing to dynamically reconfigure its output function and accurately implement a large set of complex‐valued linear transformations between an input and an output aperture.

Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.

From Uncertainty to Pathogenicity: Resolving a CSF1R Variant of Uncertain Significance Using Long‐Read Transcriptomics

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background CSF1R‐related disorder (CSF1R‐RD) is a severe autosomal dominant leukoencephalopathy characterized by progressive cognitive, neuropsychiatric, and motor decline. Although genetic testing is widely available, numerous likely pathogenic variants in CSF1R frequently remain classified as variants of uncertain significance (VUS ...

Frequency of ZFHX3‐Mediated Spinocerebellar Ataxia 4 in a US Undiagnosed Ataxia Cohort

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Spinocerebellar ataxia 4 (SCA4) is a late‐onset dominant ataxia with neuropathy caused by exonic GGC repeat expansion in the ZFHX3 gene thought to originate from a Swedish founder event. The GC‐rich expansion is highly thermodynamically stable, posing challenges for standard clinical genetic testing methods.

Multitrophic alpha and beta diversity of lake plankton across Canada

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Anthropogenic environmental changes impact freshwater biodiversity globally. While biodiversity assessments in freshwater environments have traditionally focused on individual groups of organisms or trophic levels, considering patterns of ‘multitrophic biodiversity' across the food web provides a more comprehensive view of anthropogenic impacts and ...
