Predicting Secondary-Dendrite Arm Spacing of the Al-4.5wt%Cu Alloy During Unidirectional Solidification [PDF]
Mechanical properties and performance of metallic materials depend on their microstructures. In order to develop engineering materials that match prescribed criteria and to enable design with multifunctional materials, it is essential to be able to ...

Assembly of sensory-motor connectivity in the spinal cord of mice [PDF]
Many features critical for proper functioning of an organism are under the control of neuronal circuits. The building blocks for these circuits are formed early during embryogenesis and are generated by the specification of distinct neuronal types.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Most neurons are not replaced after injury and thus possess robust intrinsic mechanisms for repair after damage. Axon injury triggers a calcium wave, and calcium and cAMP can augment axon regeneration.

MicroRNA-214 Promotes Dendritic Development by Targeting the Schizophrenia-associated Gene Quaking (Qki) [PDF]
Proper dendritic elaboration of neurons is critical for the formation of functional circuits during brain development. Defects in dendrite morphogenesis are associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, and microRNAs are emerging as regulators of aspects ...
