Non‐Targeting shRNA‐Encoded Plasmid DNA Enhances Protective Immunity Through RIDD‐RIG‐I Signaling Pathway in the Zika Virus Animal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
We present a novel DNA vaccine platform featuring intrinsic, non‐targeting dsRNA that significantly enhances immune responses by activating the regulated IRE1‐dependent decay‐RIG‐I signaling pathway. This research elucidates a previously uncharacterized mechanism for dsRNA‐mediated innate immune activation.

Development of dengue DNA vaccines

open access: yesVaccine, 2011
Vaccination with plasmid DNA against infectious pathogens including dengue is an active area of investigation. By design, DNA vaccines are able to elicit both antibody responses and cellular immune responses capable of mediating long-term protection. Great technical improvements have been made in dengue DNA vaccine constructs and trials are underway to

Current progress in dengue vaccines [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Science, 2013
AbstractDengue is one of the most important emerging vector-borne viral diseases. There are four serotypes of dengue viruses (DENV), each of which is capable of causing self-limited dengue fever (DF) or even life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS).

Dengue vaccine acceptance and willingness to pay

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2017
The introduction of new vaccines is accompanied by a variety of challenges. Among these, very important ones concern the questions whether the public is willing to accept and willing to purchase the vaccine.

Therapeutic Gases in Biomedicine: Updates on Nitric Oxide and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 23, 23 April 2026.
Therapeutic gases, including NO, CO, H2S, H2, CO2, O2, and Xe, play vital roles in cellular signaling and repair. This review highlights the emerging carriers and delivery systems that enable controlled, localized gas release for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

Bridging the knowledge gap: Thai parents' perspectives on dengue infection and its vaccination and the need for targeted promotion.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases
BackgroundDengue infection is endemic in Thailand, with children being the most impacted group. Various measures, including the dengue vaccine (recently recommended in Thailand since 2017 for Dengvaxia and 2023 for Qdenga), have been implemented to ...

Infection Risk From Humans and Animals in the Anatomy Laboratory: A Scoping Review

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 346-367, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Whole‐body dissection is a cornerstone of anatomy education. During and following the COVID‐19 pandemic, exposure to infectious agents and other risks of dissection were highlighted. To identify potential risks, one must have the data outlining these risks in specific situations.

A gorilla adenovirus-based vaccine against Zika virus induces durable immunity and confers protection in pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The teratogenic potential of Zika virus (ZIKV) has made the development of an effective vaccine a global health priority. Here, we generate two gorilla adenovirus-based ZIKV vaccines that encode for pre-membrane (prM) and envelope (E) proteins (GAd-Zvp ...
