Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

An Adaptive Signal Photon Detection Method Based on DBSCAN for Photon-Counting Laser Altimeter

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Photon-counting light detection and ranging is very sensitive to ambient interference, target features, and instrument performance, especially for long-distance detection of spaceborne laser altimeter and measurement of complex land-cover types with ...

Simultaneous Nonconvex Denoising and Unmixing for Hyperspectral Imaging

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Sparse hyperspectral unmixing aims at finding the sparse fractional abundance vector of a spectral signature present in a mixed pixel. However, there are several types of noise present in the hyperspectral images.

ChicGrasp: Imitation‐Learning‐Based Customized Dual‐Jaw Gripper Control for Manipulation of Delicate, Irregular Bio‐Products

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Satellite Remote Sensing Grayscale Image Colorization Based on Denoising Generative Adversarial Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Aiming to solve the challenges of difficult training, mode collapse in current generative adversarial networks (GANs), and the efficiency issue of requiring multiple samples for Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DDPM), this paper proposes a ...

Denoising-Based Turbo Compressed Sensing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Turbo compressed sensing (Turbo-CS) is an efficient iterative algorithm for sparse signal recovery with partial orthogonal sensing matrices. In this paper, we extend the Turbo-CS algorithm to solve compressed sensing problems involving a more general ...

High Humidity Exacerbates Psoriasiform Skin Disease Relapse by Increasing Tissue‐Resident Memory T Cells via Altering Skin Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

A multiscale Bayesian approach to quantification and denoising of energy-dispersive x-ray data

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
Energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) spectrum imaging yields compositional information with a spatial resolution down to the atomic level. However, experimental limitations often produce extremely sparse and noisy EDX spectra.

Smooth dynamic T2* mapping in fMRI based on a novel, total variation-minimizing algorithm for efficient multi-echo BOLD time series denoising with high signal-to-noise and contrast-to-noise ratios

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience
IntroductionThis report deals with advanced processing of blood oxygenation-dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) signals. It does not address functional characteristics of the human cortex, such as functional connectivity.
