Jet tomography of high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions at next-to-leading order

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate that jet observables are highly sensitive to the characteristics of the vacuum and the in-medium QCD parton showers and propose techniques that exploit this sensitivity to constrain the mechanism of quark and gluon energy loss in strongly ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Separation of Dolomite from a Lead-zinc Sulfide by Dense Medium

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
A lead-zinc sulfide is a reworked SEDEX deposit, in which the main gangue mineral is dolomite. About 40%~50% yield of flotation tailing was need to be stockpiled in tailing pond.

Evaluation of coal preparation plant separation effect based on multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluatio

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2017
In order to reflect situation that whether products meet index requirements in coal preparation plant, a multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was proposed.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Frustrated Further-Neighbor Antiferromagnetic and Electron-Hopping Interactions in the d=3 tJ Model: Finite-Temperature Global Phase Diagrams from Renormalization-Group Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The renormalization-group theory of the d=3 tJ model is extended to further-neighbor antiferromagnetic or electron-hopping interactions, including the ranges of frustration.

Dense Medium Cyclone Separation of Fine Coal: A Discussion on the Separation Lower Limit

open access: yesMinerals, 2023
The separation of fine coal has been widely discussed in the coal preparation industry due to its high economic potential. Dense medium cyclone (DMC) is the most efficient equipment available for fine coal separation. However, the industrial application of DMC is far from satisfactory due to operational difficulties and maintenance.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Novel Bose-Einstein Interference in the Passage of a Fast Particle in a Dense Medium

open access: yes, 2012
When an energetic particle collides coherently with many medium particles at high energies, the Bose-Einstein symmetry with respect to the interchange of the exchanged virtual bosons leads to a destructive interference of the Feynman amplitudes in most ...
