Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Dynamic crushing of uniform and density graded cellular structures based on the circle arc model
A new circle-arc model was established to present the cellular structure. Dynamic response of models with density gradients under constant velocities is investigated by employing Ls-dyna 971.

Cities with suburbs: Evidence from India. [PDF]
For a country like India that contains a large number of Urban Agglomerations (UAs), suburbanisation has drawn little attention of the literature. I focus on this sparsely studied issue in this work.

Motion of vortices in inhomogeneous Bose-Einstein condensates
We derive a general and exact equation of motion for a quantised vortex in an inhomogeneous two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate. This equation expresses the velocity of a vortex as a sum of local ambient density and phase gradients in the vicinity ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

A quick and large-scale density gradient subfractionation method for low density lipoproteins.
A quick density gradient-banding subfractionation method has been developed for d < 1.063 g/ml lipoproteins. Up to 324 ml of plasma can be resolved into five distinct layers by a single ultracentrifugation.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Discrete self-similarity in ultrarelativistic type-II strong explosions [PDF]
A solution to the ultrarelativistic strong explosion problem with a nonpower law density gradient is delineated. We consider a blast wave expanding into a density profile falling off as a steep radial power law with small, spherically symmetric, and log ...

Transverse spin gradient functional for non-collinear spin density functional theory
We present a novel functional for spin density functional theory aiming at the description of non-collinear magnetic structures. The construction of the functional employs the spin-spiral-wave state of the uniform electron gas as reference system.
