Effects of embryonic exposure to bixafen on zebrafish (Danio rerio) retinal development
Bixafen, a pyrazole-carboxamide fungicide, is a potent toxicant that may elicit multiple adverse effects in non-target organisms. However, knowledge of the mechanisms involved in developmental defects caused by bixafen in aquatic organisms remains ...

Pionic atoms probing pi-NN resonances
The pion optical potential generated by the hypothetical pi-NN-coupled NN-decoupled dibaryon resonance d'(2065) is calculated to the lowest order in nuclear matter density.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Histomorphometric Evaluation of Myocardial Tissue Zones in Patients With Persistent Hypokalemia
Background: Persistent hypokalemia influences cardiac structure and function, but its zonal effect on myocardial remodeling is not definite. This study quantitatively examined myocardial tissue zones in chronic hypokalemia, to build a schematic model of

A Laplace-like formula for the energy dependence of the nuclear level density parameter
Collective effects in the level density are not well understood, and including these effects as enhancement factors to the level density does not produce sufficiently consistent predictions of observables.

Collective Degrees of Freedom in Nuclear Level Densities [PDF]
A finite temperature extension of the interacting boson model is developed and applied to the calculation of the collective partition function of transitional even-even Sm isotopes. The effective boson number decreases with increasing temperature, leading to a natural damping of collectivity.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
