[The effect of rare earth metal-containing toothpastes on dental enamel solubility in vitro].
Fogorvosi szemle, 1993The effect of different REE containing toothpastes has been studied on human dental enamel, in an experimental model, using diluted suspensions of toothpastes. The grade of remineralization has been characterised by the amount of dissolved phosphorus from the enamel samples.

An in vitro study about the influence of temperature on the solubility of deciduous powdered enamel protected by sodium fluoride (0.05%) was made to observe the variation of the weight loss when the tissue was exposed to 0.5 N lactate buffer at pH 4.5.

[In vivo retention of KOH soluble and firmly bound fluoride in demineralized dental enamel].
Deutsche zahnarztliche Zeitschrift, 1990Cylindrical enamel blocks with initial carious lesions were treated for one hour with Duraphat or Fluor-Protector. After removal of the fluoride varnishes the enamel blocks were kept in the mouths of 3 probands for 5 days. Plaque was allowed to accumulate on half of the enamel cylinders, while the other half was kept clean. Part of the enamel cylinders

[The effect of the light from a helium-neon laser on normal dental enamel solubility and in caries].
Stomatologiia, 1991Effects of He-Ne laser radiation at a wavelength 0.63 micron for 90 sec on dental enamel mineral metabolism were studied from Ca, P levels and Ca/P ratio in 67 children aged 3 to 7. Ca and P solubility in surface enamel layers was found reduced after He-Ne laser irradiation in both healthy children and those with caries.

Sections of etched enamel and dentinal surfaces were examined to compare the acid solubility of normal hard tissue and determine the effects of various antibiotic substances. Considerable differences were observed, of which the correlation with cariogenesis and with the progression of caries are being discussed in detail. The results of this study show

Part III attempts to develop a diffusion controlled model of caries in the intact enamel employing the kinetic results of the previous two parts. A model of the enamel as a granular bed with a diffusible organic matrix filling the interstices is considered.
