Distinct Microbiota and Functional Pathway Profiles Define Success and Failure in Regenerative Endodontic Treatment

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To characterize the intracanal microbiota and identify key microbial taxa and functional pathways associated with regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) outcomes. Methodology In this observational cohort study, 196 samples were collected at five time points from external tooth surfaces (T1, T4) and root canals (T2, T3, T5).

Risk Factors and Management of Gingival Enlargement: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To identify risk factors/indicators of gingival enlargement (GE) and to summarise evidence for its management. Methods A systematic review was undertaken following PRISMA guidelines and divided into PECOTS and PICOTS questions, related to risk factors/indicators and treatment studies, respectively.

Papilla‐Preserving Gingival Fiber Retention Osseous Surgery in the Anterior Maxilla: A Novel Clinical Technique

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To describe papilla‐preserving gingival fiber retention osseous surgery (PP‐FibReOS), a biologically driven resective approach intended to eliminate periodontal pockets while maintaining interproximal connective tissue and papillary stability in esthetically demanding maxillary anterior sites.

Virtual brain endocasts of the palaeanodont Metacheiromys marshi and the neurosensory evolution of early Pholidotamorpha

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
We describe the endocranial anatomy of Metacheiromys marshi. Decrease in olfaction and eye movement control occurred through time in Pholidotamorpha and is likely linked to fossorial adaptations. The development of the orbital gyrus might be related to the evolution of myrmecophagy and the emergence of a protrusile tongue in early Pholidotamorpha ...

Suprahyoid Muscle Activity and Fatigue During Tongue Elevation Compared With the Head Lift Exercise: A Surface EMG Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Tongue elevation elicited suprahyoid muscle activity comparable to the head lift exercise, despite a greater decline in median frequency over time. Tongue elevation may represent a practical alternative or complementary exercise for suprahyoid muscle training.

Peri‐implant tissue definition and registration with a 3D‐printed emergence profile former on titanium stock healing abutment: A dental technique and clinical report

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent focus has shifted toward refining the soft tissue emergence profile to enhance aesthetics, support peri‐implant health, and ensure long‐term success. Traditionally, titanium stock healing abutments or chairside‐customized abutments were used to shape peri‐implant tissues and develop the emergence profile for implant‐supported prostheses.

Systemic, Lifestyle and Environmental Modifying Factors in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.
