On Logic of Strictly-Deontic Modalities. A Semantic and Tableau Approach
Standard deontic logic (SDL) is defined on the basis of possible world semantics and is a logic of alethic-deontic modalities rather than deontic modalities alone.

It is well-known that systems of action deontic logic emerging from a standard analysis of permission in terms of possibility of doing an action without incurring in a violation of the law are subject to paradoxes. In general, paradoxes are acknowledged as such if we have intuitions telling us that things should be different.

Regimes of Expectations: An Active Inference Model of Social Conformity and Human Decision Making
How do humans come to acquire shared expectations about how they ought to behave in distinct normalized social settings? This paper offers a normative framework to answer this question.

In this article, we introduce a logic for reasoning about probability of normative statements. We present its syntax and semantics, describe the corresponding class of models, provide an axiomatization for this logic and prove that the axiomatization is sound and complete. We also prove that our logic is decidable.

Mīmāṃsā deontic reasoning using specificity: a proof theoretic approach
Over the course of more than two millennia the philosophical school of Mīmāṃsā has thoroughly analyzed normative statements. In this paper we approach a formalization of the deontic system which is applied but never explicitly discussed in Mīmāṃsā to ...

A PARAMETRIC DESCRIPTION OF DEONTIC MODALITY IN THE POLISH AND SPANISH CIVIL CODES
The article presents a parameter-based method of description of deontic modality in the Polish and Spanish civil codes. The described units are clauses conveying deontic meanings: obligativity, prohibitivity, permissivity and immunitivity.

Some considerations on the semi-modal auxiliary verbs [PDF]
This paper deals with the livelised cost of electricity from gaseous biofuels, such as biogas and bio-syngas, produced from biodegradable waste, using different technologies (internal combustion engines, gas turbine, fuel cells) at different capacities ...

The Challenge of the K-Principle in Deontic Logic (and Well Beyond)
I go through various arguments why the K-principle (aka Distributivity Axiom), O(p→q)→(Op→Oq), a cornerstone of all deontic logic as the latter is standardly conceived, is of little use for the logical analysis of real-life deontic discourse.

We address the issue of defining a semantics for deontic argumentation that supports weak permission. Some recent results show that grounded semantics do not support weak permission when there is a conflict between two obligations. We provide a definition of Deontic Argumentation Theory that accounts for weak permission, and we recall the result about ...

Detecting Deontic Conflicts in Dynamic Settings [PDF]
Regulations, through the use of obligations and permissions, are widely used in modern society to define acceptable behaviours. Thus it is indeed important that these regulations do not conflict with each other and contain contradicting obligations.
