12 Deoxyribonuclease I

1971
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the chemical nature of deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I). A characteristic aspect of the kinetics of DNase I acting on native DNA is autoretardation. Autoretardation is caused by the continuous formation of products, which are poorer substrates than those from which they are derived.

Genomic Organization and Expression of Mouse Deoxyribonuclease I

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1995
Deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I) has recently been implicated in cell death by apoptosis, a process which is frequently accompanied by chromatin DNA degradation. Despite extensive studies on DNase I, its genomic organisation remained unknown. Here we report for the first time on the intron-exon structure of the DNase I gene.

Population Studies of Human Deoxyribonuclease I Polymorphism

Human Heredity, 1997
We have improved the resolution of the conventional method for phenotyping deoxyribonuclease I (DNase I), which makes use of isoelectric focusing, by the addition of amphoteric separators. The distribution of DNase I phenotypes was extensively examined using this improved method in 1,212 unrelated individuals from a Japanese population.

Deoxyribonuclease activities in Myxococcus coralloides D

Journal of Applied Bacteriology, 1991
Myxococcus coralloides D produced cell‐bound deoxyribonucleases (DNases) during the exponential phase of growth in liquid medium. DNase activity was much higher than that detected in other myxobacterial strains and was fractionated into three different peaks by filtration through Sephadex G‐200. The DNases were named G, M and P.

[13] Digestion of nucleosomes with deoxyribonucleases I and II

1989
Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the digestion of nucleosomes with deoxyribonucleases I and II. The results of DNase I and DNase II digestions have contributed substantially to the development of our current picture of the nucleosome core, but their use is still finding important application in detection of binding of the histone octamer to ...
