Depolarizing Action of Endotoxin
Nature, 1965RECENTLY we reported that various endotoxins induced hyper-reactivity of pulmonary vasoconstrictor mechanisms to circulating acetylcholine (ACh) in rabbits1,2. This effect was specific for ACh and was not due to inhibition of ACh-esterase. It was abolished by atropine but not by ganglionic blocking agents2.
